Barry Dawson IV — I had to highlight it all with your response because it really means the world to me your words describing how this poem hit you. I totally get it triggering with your own relationship but then coming back because of what it says and it drawing you back to it.

This was one of my harder poems to write because poems with my family but especially my mother, our complications, the pain suffering through a sensitive child seeming to be too sensitive for their hands to carry just guts me to write, but I feel like then it needs to be said. I want to have words that heal or that make connections to say you’re heard even if no one told you that as a child.

It means everything to make that kind of connection through a poem so honestly thank you so much for responding to this little poem of mine. ♥️
