How Do I Taste?

Deliver me to your mouth
and tell me how I taste?
Is it sweetness or the honey
mixed with medicinal that wants to

lay waste to your body
you swallow it down
because I’m supposed to be good
for your health
but whatever is good
likes to trick the tongue
into thinking again.

You’re unsure
if you should trust
the timed process
of gulping down
liquid
languishing in a
hungry belly.

Am I heavy
but appear light
am I sinkhole
blackhole
a hole in the heart
we can’t fix?
