Rise Up With Oxygen Inhaled
A One Line Poem
1 min readJun 24, 2020
To buckle under the weight of life
pressing down on my throat
willing me to choke,
I instead straighten my spine
hold breath in my lips like a prayer,
and rise up.
Poetry prompt thanks to Chalkboard and Harper Thorpe and Kathy Jacobs. Theme in response toFierce Force 💃🏼’s poem based on the word, “Buckle.”
