I am resigned
to remind myself
of my own worth
each and every day.

Your invalidation
not having validity
within the varicose
of my veins.

I say no,
my blood pumps
without the premise
of breathing to enable it
like the promise
I make to my bones
to keep me alive
just like your words
don’t find a way
inside my skin today.
